What is Consulto?
Consulto is the most complete lawyer directory in Portugal. We help citizens find lawyers by practice area, location, and availability. Our data comes from the public register of the Ordem dos Advogados.
How do I find a lawyer near me?
You can use our search on the homepage and filter by district, municipality, or practice area.
You can also browse by location through our regional guides.
Is it free for citizens?
Yes, Consulto is completely free for citizens looking for lawyers. You will not pay anything to search or view profiles.
Why are there no lawyer reviews?
For legal and ethical reasons. In Portugal, Article 180 of the Penal Code criminalises defamation, and anonymous reviews of professionals create significant legal risks. We opted for a model based on verified information rather than subjective ratings.
Are the lawyers' contact details visible?
Professional contact details (phone, email, website) are visible on profiles that have been claimed and managed by the lawyer themselves. We respect the privacy of professionals who have not claimed their profile.

Where does the data on my profile come from?
The data comes from the public register of the Ordem dos Advogados. By claiming your profile, you can correct and enrich the displayed information.
How do I claim my profile?
Find your profile on Consulto and click "Claim This Profile". After verification of your bar number, you will have full access to manage your information. Visit our registration page to get started.
What is Consulto Pro?
Consulto Pro is our premium solution for lawyers, with advanced features such as:
- Professional photo and full bio
- Visible contact information (email, phone, website)
- Priority in search results
- Pro badge on your profile
- Profile view statistics
How can I remove my profile?
Under GDPR, any lawyer can request the removal of their profile. Send an email to info@consulto.pt with your bar number and we will process the request within 30 days.
How do I edit my information?
After claiming your profile, log in to your account and access the dashboard where you can edit all your information at any time.
About Payments (Pro)
How do I pay for Consulto Pro?
We will soon accept credit/debit card payments directly on the site.
In the meantime, contact us to activate Consulto Pro.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel your Consulto Pro subscription at any time. There are no lock-in contracts.
Is there a free launch period?
Yes. During the launch period, all lawyers have free access to Pro features while we develop the payment system.
